An effective way to handle this kind of situation is by using redirection.  In most cases, if you can redirect their attention to something else you&#8217;ll be successful in stopping the fit.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re heading out, throw something new or interesting in your purse or diaper bag. This can be as simple as a small bottle of bubbles, stickers, or even a snack.</p>
<p>Just as your child starts to get upset pull out the item.  In most cases they will stop crying and want to participate.</p>
