Sponge Paint Valentine’s Day Craft
This craft project is very easy, but lots of fun. Even older kids will have fun doing it.
Matierials:
- Lightweight kitchen sponge
- Tempera Paint (pink, purple, red, and white make good choices)
- Construction paper cut into the shape of a large heart
Cut the kitchen sponge into the shape of a heart. Pour paint onto a tray. Let the children dip the sponge into the paint and then press onto the paper. The sponge gives a nice design on the paper. My kids always enjoy sponge painting. It’s a break from the traditional painting project and still enjoyable.
*Although this project isn’t too messy you may still want to use paint shirts. Old men’s button down shirts work great. Just put them on backwards and button the top button. I also cut the sleeves off half way so they’re less bulky.
