Candy Airplane
This is a fun craft to do with the kids, and they’ll love giving all their friends one on Valentine’s day. I can remember making these airplanes with my mom when I was young. You can find all the details for making the airplanes at FamilyFun.com. I’ll try to give a quick summary of how they’re done.
Here’s what you need:
- Gum
- Peppermint Life Savers
- Thin Rubber Band
- Smarties
- Heart Shaped Stickers (we never used these, but they do make it cute)
Thread the rubber band through both of the lifesavers. Place the Smarties between the life savers and put the ends of the rubber band up and over each end of the stick of gum. Place the heart stickers across the top of the gum wrapper. You could also write your child’s name on the top of the airplane instead of using the stickers.
You’ll probably want to purchase extra supplies to allow for mistakes and broken pieces. (and little hands that may sneak along the way)
*Just a hint: If you’re doing this with younger children you may want to assemble the airplanes and have them decorate with the stickers.
