Heritage Makers
Over the years, I think it’s safe to say that I’ve spent more than a thousand dollars on scrap book supplies. Most of it is still sitting in the high priced organizer bags that I have for them! The problem has been the time it takes to get everything out, do a page, and then put everything back. Not to mention, the fact that we now have a digital camera and it takes more effort than before to actually print out a picture! When we had only one child, it was easier to take the time to work on it. So, sad as it is, I have several scrapbooks for our first child, and I’m still working on our second child’s baby book. She will be three next week! We also have another child turning one in March, and I’m yet to start his!
A few months ago a friend introduced me to a digital scrapbooking program that is online. You don’t have to have some fancy computer with a lot of storage space. If you have a high speed internet connection, you are good to go. For a small monthly fee you can have several different levels of access to their program. Their basic program is actually free and the most expensive runs $25 a month. There are thousands of papers, embellishments and texts to choose from. You can upload your photos onto their site and they can stay there forever. Their is no size limit to what your account can hold if you have the top package. You can cancel at any time as well. You simply pay your monthly fee, and then the fee for printing and shipping. You can do books of several sizes, posters, cards and a bunch of other fun stuff. They recently upgraded the program and it is fantastic. You can check out their site at www.simplestorybook.com. You can subscribe right there online under Mindy Evans. She is my rep and is wonderful at keeping you in touch with the latest things they have going on. She also does a lot of templates that she shares for free to help get you started and give you great ideas.
The site has a tour you can take to give you an idea of what they offer. I would recommend it to anyone. What I love the most about it is the fact that I can work on it for 10 minutes at a time if I choose. There’s no getting all my stuff out and making a mess in the process. It’s all right there on my computer, and by being able to upload my photos onto the program, the costs of the books are quite cheap compared to what I used to pay in developing and all the other supplies! Give it a try!
