Mail Call
How many out there are sitting at a desk full of piles of old mail?! Why do we let it stack up that way?! Here’s a few suggestions to clear the clutter.
- Determine a place that you will put your mail each day.
- Do not open the mail unless you have time to deal with it.
- If it is a bill, pay it. That does not mean you must mail it,
just get it ready to go and make a note in the stamp area when it
needs to be mailed. If you pay your bills online you have just saved
yourself a lot of time. - If it is a catalog, recycle it. All catalogs are available
online. Shred your name and address on the catalog and make sure you
checked the ordered form inside the catalog. They usually have
personal information printed there as well. - Shred all junk mail that has your name on it.
- Have a file folder for each month and put your paid bills,
receipts etc. in the proper month. - Have a file folder for letters that need to be answered…does
anyone write letters anymore?
Sometimes my mail sits for several days before I can get to it. That
is okay. A stack of unopened mail takes up less space than a bunch
of opened stuff spread from one room to the next. Happy sorting!
